I’m an Elf

For a long time, details played an important role in my work. In this series, I aimed to transform these details into worlds of their own.

In these photographs, tiny fragments expand into vast spaces, as if you could step right in and wander through them. I tried to enhance this effect by the monumental scale of the prints.

Jan Rot, the Dutch singer/songwriter, once wrote in his column for the Dutch magazine Nieuwe Revu, following an exhibition he had seen:

“The Jan Rot Encouragement Award, worth a heartwarming smile, goes to I Am an Elf, images of a forest field filled with bald little heads, taken from a low perspective.”
